Mike joined the cast The Widow, which will star Chloe Grace Moretz and is directed by Neil Jordan (Riviera, The Borgias).
In the film that starts out as a good samaritan tale then morphs into something else. Chloe is playing Frances, a young woman who returns a widow’s (Huppert) purse, leading to an unlikely friendship. But as they spend more time together, Frances discovers that her new older friend might not be all that she seems. Maika is on to play Erica, Frances’ best friend with a wealthy father and a protective stance towards her.
Filming is currently taking place in Dublin, Ireland, where the two of them have been spotted out and about together…
Maika Monroe has joined Chloe Grace Moretz and Isabelle Huppert in The Widow, the Neil Jordan-directed thriller for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. Ray Wright (The Crazies) wrote the script. SKE, Lawrence Bender, James Flynn and Karen Richards are producing.
Moretz plays Frances, a young woman who returns an elderly widow’s lost purse, leading to an unlikely relationship between the two — until the young woman discovers her elder might not be all that she seems and that she’s downright dangerous. Monroe will play Erica, Frances’ protective best friend who is living large on her father’s dime and helps her college pal acclimate to the city.
Monroe is coming off the genre hit It Follows. She’s repped by WME and Management 360. Wright is Verve and Fourth Wall Management. Sierra/Affinity will represent foreign sales, and CAA and WME Global will co-represent the film domestically.
